This weekend is aptly named Nelson County Market Days. His five different markets, each with different themes and items, will be held, making it the perfect time for a ‘market hopping’.
The Nelson Farmers Market Co-op begins the weekend on May 4th from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The Market Cooperative is located at 3079 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellies Ford. The market has been held since 1997 and has more than 50 participating vendors, according to its website. The market features produce, baked goods, plants, arts and crafts. After Market Cooperative, head to the Front Street Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to noon. In its first year, Front Street Market will feature local fruits, vegetables, baked goods, flowers, arts and crafts, according to a listing from Tourism Nelson. At Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company, a vendor market and plant sale will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. The market will feature live music, food and drink specials, and more than 25 local vendors, according to the company’s Facebook page.
