Manchester Digital, the regional technology industry body, has received funding from Barclays Eagle Labs to support local start-ups.
The funding, awarded as part of the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programme, will support 200 start-ups and founders spread evenly across Manchester’s 10 boroughs.

Manchester Digital’s program will consist of roadshows and workshops for 200 participants. Phase 2 of the plan will provide more intensive mentoring to his 100 startups with the highest growth potential.

The amount of funding provided by Eagle Labs was not disclosed. Last week Manchester Digital, along with a small number of prominent technology companies in the North of England, called on the Mayor of Greater Manchester to support the Northern Technology Coalition, backed by the Digital Investment Fund.
The announcement comes during the inaugural UK Tech Week, a series of events promoting the UK’s regional technology economy.
