Abeer, 23, began honing his photography skills four years ago, using his iPhone to capture fleeting moments and everyday beauty, learning something new with every shot and taking a step closer to his ultimate dream of becoming a famous photographer.
Abeer dreamed of having a big studio equipped with professional cameras and state-of-the-art tools, and her family always encouraged her dreams and taught her patience and perseverance.
She started saving money to buy a professional camera and joined the Lahij photography team, but there was a big problem as they lacked the necessary equipment. She was discouraged, but her love for photography kept her going.
With support from the ERRY JP III Programme to Support Resilient Livelihoods, Food Security and Climate Adaptation in Yemen, Abeer received a small grant to purchase the camera he needed to pursue his passion.
With the support of UNDP’s local partner, For All Foundation, Abeer’s entrepreneurial journey began.
To ensure a steady income, she joined a photography team in Aden, interacting with people from all walks of life and capturing their stories through her lens. After returning home, she photographs weddings and graduation parties, contributing greatly to the happiness of her family.
“Never stop chasing your dreams,” Abeer proudly declares.
Recently, Abeer was invited to the ERRY JP III exhibition in Aden, not as a participant, but as an entrepreneur. With her new camera, she took photos of other well-known businesses with the support of ERRY JP III. Through her expressive photos and videos, she conveyed the impact the program has had on the lives of community members.
