A Dubai clothing brand has had a model stand next to a mannequin in its store, confusing shoppers at a shopping mall and sparking mixed reactions online. In a video first shared by the model herself, the model can be seen posing next to a mannequin at the clothing brand’s Cape Bride store in Dubai Festival City Mall.
Model Angelina stood on a podium at the front of the store wearing a dress and stiletto heels from the brand, and continued to strike poses, garnering attention from shoppers passing by.
She captioned the video, “POV: Marketing in Dubai.”

The video was first posted to Angelina’s Instagram and TikTok accounts and was reposted on several other Instagram pages.
Popular Dubai-based account @lovindubai, a page that posts short stories and other community information, shared the video with the caption, “Legend has it, she’s still posing.”
However, not many thought the marketing ploy was a particularly clever idea, with Instagram user Shruti Chadha commenting: “This is inhumane. Her feet must be in horrible pain. Why do they need this when they have regular dummies?”
Celebrity Ghazi Al Yaman said: “A new level of marketing. It’s fantastic.”
Another user, Vlada Bulhakova, made a similar comment, saying, “Someone is putting a lot of money into marketing.”

“It’s slavish, dehumanizing and uncomfortable that people are saying this. Like everyone else, we experience discomfort in our jobs, pain in our legs, backs, hands, somewhere. She gets paid just like the rest of us, think about the security guards at the mall, they’re on their feet all the time too. We all struggle and that makes us stronger,” said another.
The video posted to Angelina’s account has been viewed more than 6,000 times and has over 100 likes, while the same video posted to Love In Dubai’s account has been viewed more than 489,000 times and has more than 300 comments.
