ABRDN, a global investment firm, has just launched an emerging markets income equity strategy available to accredited and institutional investors in Singapore and professional investors in Hong Kong.
This reflects the strategy of the UK-based vehicle, which the company launched in 2012 and has been managed by lead fund manager Matt Williams and supporting portfolio construction groups in London and Singapore, the company said in a statement. .
This strategy aims to achieve a combination of growth and returns by investing in emerging market (EM) stocks. The company continued that it takes a balanced two-pronged approach to portfolio construction – 50% high dividends and 50% dividend growth. It does not rely on a concentrated group of high-yield stocks to perform.
“We understand that income is a never-ending demand for investors in Asia. It demonstrates our commitment as a specialist asset manager to expanding our solutions,” said David Hanzl (pictured), Head of Wholesale APAC at abrdn.
“The proportion of emerging market companies paying dividends is now on par with developed markets. This strategy therefore offers investors new options and a long-term opportunity to benefit from high-growth markets.” “I believe we can provide that,” he added.
