WASHINGTON – Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Tim Scott (R-SC), co-chairs of the bipartisan Senate Entrepreneurs Caucus, announced that a bipartisan resolution commemorating National Entrepreneurship Week has passed the Senate on February 9, 2024.
National Entrepreneurship Week is a bipartisan, congressionally chartered initiative held annually during the third week of February since 2006. This year, National Entrepreneurship Week runs from February 10-17.
“Entrepreneurs move our country forward by transforming today’s new ideas and side hustles into tomorrow’s thriving businesses. Our bipartisan resolution celebrates the innovation, creativity and courageous spirit of entrepreneurs who are leading our economy into the future.” Klobuchar said. “As co-chair of the bipartisan Senate Entrepreneur Caucus, I will continue to work to ensure America remains the best place in the world to start and grow a business.”
“Entrepreneurship is the foundation of the American Dream.” Scott said. “As a former small business owner, I know the hard work and dedication Americans put into making their dreams come true every day. During National Entrepreneurship Week, I’m proud to celebrate entrepreneurs for their tireless efforts in creating great economic opportunity for our country.”
Senators Klobuchar and Scott formed the bipartisan Senate Entrepreneurs Caucus in 2019 to address the most pressing issues facing entrepreneurs and serve as a forum for collaboration and coordination. Members include Senators Chris Coons (D-DE), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), John Hoeven (R-ND), Jerry Moran (R-Kansas), Gary Peters (D-MI), Kyrsten Sinema (R-IA), Tina Smith (D-MN), and Bob Casey (D-PA).

Designate the week of February 10-17, 2024, as “National Entrepreneurship Week” to recognize the importance and contributions of entrepreneurs and startups to the economic prosperity of the United States and the well-being of every community across the United States.
National Entrepreneurship Week is a congressionally chartered event held annually during the third week of February with the goal of democratizing and promoting entrepreneurship across the United States through education, connection and collaboration.
The United States is the most entrepreneurial country in the world, and entrepreneurship is woven into our national consciousness and is central to our identity.
That entrepreneurial spirit and the countless new businesses it spawned have built the most innovative and productive economy in the history of the world.
The United States is a nation of entrepreneurs, with start-ups and small businesses making up 99 percent of all U.S. businesses and employing nearly half of all U.S. workers.
Meanwhile, boosting entrepreneurship is crucial to U.S. economic growth, given its importance in innovation, productivity growth, job creation, and expanding opportunity.
National Entrepreneurship Week celebrates the initiative, drive, creativity and dedication embodied in American entrepreneurship.
National Entrepreneurship Week inspires students and the next generation of entrepreneurs by encouraging educators in elementary schools, colleges and universities across the United States to incorporate entrepreneurial education into their classes.
Research has demonstrated that students who participate in entrepreneurship education programs have higher attendance rates, perform better in core subjects, and are less likely to drop out than students who do not participate in such programs.
