ASTANA – At the 2nd WEC General Assembly held in Istanbul on April 18, Kazakhstan was inaugurated as chair of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee (WEC) of the Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry Confederation (TCCI), Asmar National Women Entrepreneurs said. The association reported.

Representing Kazakhstan at the event, Razat Ramazanova, Chairman of the Asmar and Atameken Business Women’s Council, was elected as WEC TCCI Chairman for the next two years.
She said that Kazakhstan’s Presidency will aim to strategically develop regional business projects with the active participation of women. Supporting and stimulating such projects will not only generate unique business ideas, but also create a favorable environment for the formation of a business ecosystem in Turkish countries.
Ramazanova pointed out that more than one million small and medium-sized enterprises in Kazakhstan are headed by women, highlighting the important role of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in fostering women’s entrepreneurship.
However, global challenges such as regional conflicts and climate impacts are creating new obstacles for women. Ramazanova said women play an important role in the transition to a sustainable economy by developing environmentally friendly initiatives, promoting responsible consumption and production practices, and contributing to biodiversity conservation. He emphasized that it is possible.
Kazakhstan took over the chairmanship from Azerbaijan. Heads of delegation of the Committee for Women Entrepreneurs welcomed the representative of Turkmenistan, who joined TCCI as a full member a few weeks ago.
The event brought together more than 400 businesswomen from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Hungary.
Both parties agreed to continue their efforts to break down barriers and create a favorable working environment for women entrepreneurs in the Turkish region.
The next WEC General Assembly will be held in Astana in mid-October 2025.
