The main theme from U.S. elected officials and politicians on Saturday was relief at the rescue of four Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip and hope for the remaining captives.

Praise for the Israeli military’s dangerous operations was also a focus.

President Joe Biden noted the heroic rescue of Noor Al-Ghamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andri Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv during a joint news conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Saturday.

“We will not stop working until all hostages are home and a ceasefire is achieved,” Biden vowed, referring to the 116 remaining hostages who have been held in Gaza since October 7.

“The release of the four hostages by Israeli forces can only be welcomed,” Macron added. “We hope for an immediate ceasefire.”

US politicians also commented on the news of the rescue.

“It’s great news that Israel has rescued four hostages from Hamas terrorists,” said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas). Posted on X shortly after the news broke“It reminds us that this is a battle between good and evil.”

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) simply shared a link to an article about the rescue efforts along with three dismay emojis.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) followed a similar path. IDF announcement about rescue reshared with praying hands emoji.
