Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has promised to provide full support to startups in the state. He made the promise at the ‘Srijan’ Startups Conference recently, organised by the Jharkhand Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry at the Aryabhatta Auditorium, Ranchi University. The Chief Minister outlined his government’s vision for economic growth and job creation in the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted Jharkhand’s industry-friendly nature and stressed that investments are needed to create jobs for its people. He said businesses have thrived in the state for generations and he was familiar with the local economic, social and geographical conditions.

Acknowledging that the promotion of startups has been slow, Soren expressed his government’s determination to solve the issue through the Startup Policy. The government’s focus is primarily on turning the state into a fertile ground for startups. This will also help in creating employment opportunities for the youth.

Jharkhand has been a lynchpin of India’s industrial sector. Big names like Tata and Birla set up shop there after independence, and major companies include Coal India Ltd and Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited. However, over time, the state has seen a decline and many industries have closed down. This has led to unemployment and economic stagnation.

The Soren Administration is committed to building a sustainable foundation for the industry of the future that will provide long-term benefits to our residents and foster an environment in which industry can survive and thrive for generations to come.

Soren assured that the government is ready to implement the constructive suggestions made by the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industry and stressed their determination to move forward in a collaborative manner.
