MINNEAPOLIS, May 1, 2024 (Globe Newswire) — Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) has named Restaurant Technologies CEO Jeffrey Kiesel a finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2024 Heartland Award. The Heartland Program celebrates entrepreneurs in the Dakotas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas. This year marks his 38th Entrepreneur of the Year award, which honors bold leaders who disrupt markets, revolutionize fields and have a transformative impact on lives. It’s an award. For the past 40 years, the program has recognized bold entrepreneurs with big ideas and bold actions that are reshaping the world.

Kiesel was one of 28 regional entrepreneurs shortlisted by an independent panel of judges. Candidates were evaluated based on their demonstrated ability to build long-term value through entrepreneurship, purpose, growth and impact, among other core contributions and attributes.

When Kiesel joined the organization as CEO in 2005, Restaurant Technologies had 12 locations and just 250 employees. Under his leadership, the organization has consistently shown double-digit growth year after year and now has 1,500 employees and serves 40,000 customers in 41 locations across the United States. . Over the past 20 years, he has proven his ability to adapt and evolve to meet business needs. He has led the organization through five private equity sales and guided the organization through two of the most challenging business periods of our generation: the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to growing the organization’s business, Kiesel transformed the organization with environmental, social, and governance initiatives. In 2023, Restaurant Technologies recycled more than 314 million pounds of used cooking oil and converted it into renewable diesel or biodiesel with the help of renewable energy partners. He also makes a matching annual donation to the Restaurant Technologies Educational Foundation. This foundation has raised over $550,000 for over 50 students since his founding in 2013.
