Schroeder
Investment manager Schroders has announced the UK launch of the Schroders Emerging Markets Value Fund, designed to capitalise on demand from UK clients seeking exposure to the long-term growth potential of emerging markets.
The strategy was first introduced by Schroders in September 2020 as part of its Schroders International Selection fund series and is now available to investors in the UK. The company said in a statement that the fund is managed in a contrarian manner and will only invest in assets that its managers believe are sufficiently undervalued.
It also employs an unconstrained, bottom-up stock selection approach and is currently invested in 41 holdings across 10 sectors in 17 countries, including China, Mexico, Nigeria, Brazil, etc. The fund aims to deliver the highest risk-adjusted returns against the MSCI emerging markets benchmark.
The fund has generated a relative return of 16.7% per year against this benchmark since inception, and absolute returns have grown at a compounded annual rate of 18.2%, according to the firm.
