ABN AMRO Investment Solutions
ABN AMRO Investment Solutions has launched the ABN AMRO Boston Common Emerging Markets ESG Equities Fund, which is sub-managed by Boston Common AM.
ABN AMRO Investment Solutions, which has been the European distributor for the Boston Common AM UCITS fund since the partnership began in 2020, will sell the new fund to European investors through its platform, the company said in a statement.
The fund will invest in a high-conviction portfolio of 40-60 high-quality, primarily large- and mid-capitalization companies with strong ESG profiles, based in emerging markets such as Brazil, China, Indonesia and India. Based on the Boston Common Emerging Markets Equity Strategy, the fossil-fuel-free fund has a high-quality core ESG style that seeks companies addressing global sustainability challenges and opportunities, the company continued.
The fund will be managed by three managers, Liz Su (leader), Matt Zarosch and Praveen Avichandani, and will be supported by Boston Common’s ESG research and engagement team. Launched in 2012, the Boston Common Emerging Markets Equity Strategy currently has approximately $370 million under management.
This fund is only available to clients resident in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Robeco
International asset manager Robeco has launched a new global multi-thematic strategy aimed at helping clients realize long-term returns from megatrends.
By undertaking bottom-up stock selection across thematic strategies, Robeco aims to increase overall returns while minimizing concentration risk and volatility associated with single themes. It builds on existing Megatrend funds that have been in existence for over 10 years. Current global assets under management in active thematic equities exceed €400 billion ($435 billion) and are expected to grow organically at over 10% per year.
The Global Multi-Thematic Strategy is a global equity portfolio classified under Article 8 of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). It draws investments from Robeco’s thematic portfolios to capture the upside potential of strong themes while mitigating downside risks. The strategy allocates exposure to promising fundamental themes and companies from Robeco’s broad range of thematic equity strategies. The firm further added that the strategy targets three key trends: technological transformation, socio-demographic change and protecting the planet.
Robeco’s multi-thematic strategy will be led by a team of three portfolio managers – Dora Bakrčková, Marco van Lent and Steef Bergacker – and two investment analysts, as well as Robeco’s network of thematic ambassadors, the company announced.
