A data scientist from India was fired from his job over a video explaining how he received “free” food from a food bank for Canadian students. His video was originally shared on Instagram and gained people’s attention after user X shared it on the microblogging platform while slamming the man. Following this, X users got into a discussion, with many criticizing him and some speaking in support of him.

In the video, Mehul Prajapati said he saves hundreds of dollars each month by getting “free” food from charity banks set up at universities by trusts, churches and non-profit organizations.
