1990 film Home Alone “Christmas Eve,” starring Macaulay Culkin, remains one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time. Besides Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister, what struck a chord with moviegoers was the iconic home he left behind for his family.
This iconic home located in suburban Chicago is back on the market for the first time since 2012. TMZ.com It was renovated and expanded in 2018 and is currently listed at $5.25 million, according to reports.
US-based real estate group Dawn McKenna Group shared a video of the fully renovated home on Instagram, offering a glimpse into the luxurious home, which includes a huge basketball court, a sunroom, five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a cinema.

but, Home Alone Fans expressed disappointment at how the home’s interior had been altered, with one fan commenting in response to the video, “It’s hilarious how they’ve literally redecorated it beyond recognition to try and sell it as a Home Alone house,” while another user commented, “I don’t like the changes. It’s ruined. Sad!”
“The decor is beautiful but changing it is wrong. They should have left it as it was. Especially the kitchen,” responded a third user.
The home was reportedly briefly listed on Airbnb in 2021 for overnight stays.
