COLORADO — Aspen Peterson, a senior at Evergreen High School and CEO of the award-winning business HighSchoolBabysitters.com, achieved a significant milestone by leading the passage of Senate Joint Resolution 24-019, designating the first week of June as “Colorado Youth Entrepreneurship Awareness Week” and creating a statewide Governor’s Youth Business Competition. The bill, co-sponsored by Senator Rachel Zenzinger and supported by Governor Jared Polis, aims to spotlight youth businesses and encourage entrepreneurial education for Colorado’s young people.
Aspen sits on the Youth Advisory Board of Young Americans Financial Education Center and Young Americans Bank, the only bank in the world exclusively for individuals under the age of 21. The passage of this resolution highlights Colorado’s ongoing commitment to developing financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills among youth.
Aspen Peterson continues to advocate for all young entrepreneurs in Colorado and was recognized by Governor Polis on June 7th for her efforts in passing legislation declaring the first week of June “Colorado Young Entrepreneurs Awareness Week.”
