Heavy rains over the past two days have caused severe flooding in many places. northern italy, resulting in the evacuation of dozens of people. Rivers overflowed, inundating towns and villages. Dramatic drone footage of flooded areas showing the extent of the damage went viral on social media platforms.

Footage shows entire neighborhoods submerged under water, with only roofs visible in some places. This has gained support and sympathy from people all over the world.

Authorities have issued a 24-hour emergency alert, the highest alert level, for northeastern Veneto region.cities like Padua and Vicenza Severe damage was caused, with roads, homes, and businesses submerged in water. The National Fire and Rescue Service said it had received about 2,500 emergency calls since the flooding began.

There are fears that further rain over the weekend could worsen the situation and cause further flooding and landslides.

Many X users have shared videos of the effects of the floods.

The Italian government is expected to declare a state of emergency to provide more funds and resources for recovery efforts. The situation remains dire in Lombardy, another hard-hit region. Lombardy governor Attilio Fontana told Italy’s ANSA news agency that many homes and businesses were still completely submerged under water, making rescue efforts difficult.
