about: Learn more about Gusty Cup and the available resources, support, and working sessions leading up to the competition on Saturday, May 11, 2024. This is your chance to ask questions and learn about past student participants and their business ideas to understand what their experience was like. This session also focuses on exercises to help with ideation – coming up with a new business idea, an opportunity to start a non-profit, or refining an idea you already have. This session will give you the tools to develop your business idea before the Startup Lab.

about: This is a space to explore entrepreneurship. The Lab is a confidential learning space where you can explore your idea, begin writing a business plan, evaluate your chances of success, and determine if entrepreneurship is right for you. In this session, you will gain a solid framework and tools to continue shaping your business plan. If you choose to move forward with your idea, you will have the opportunity to practice your presentation in early April and connect with business support resources to help bring your plan to life in the Lab before submitting your application to the 8th Gustie Entrepreneur Cup on May 11, 2024.

about: All participants will be invited to take part in a practice pitch session. You will be provided with templates, tools and tips to help you put together your idea in a concise and compelling way. From there, you will have the opportunity to practice your pitch and continue practicing, leaving you more confident in your Gusty Entrepreneur Cup application. We will coach you to share the right level of detail and prepare you to answer questions the judges may have if your business idea is selected to advance to the Gusty Cup competition in May.

timing: If a student applies for the Gas Tea Cup (Application deadline is April 17th)A panel of judges will review all submissions and 8-12 business ideas will advance to the Gustie Cup competition on May 11, 2024. Students will receive an email with the judges’ decision by Monday, April 22. If selected to advance to the competition, students can sign up to participate in coaching sessions that best fit their schedule.
about: Selected students will have the opportunity to meet with a panel of alumni mentors to share their business ideas and practice their presentations. Students will participate in question and answer sessions and engage in discussion and feedback to refine their business ideas and presentations.
