Cannes Film Festival jury president Greta Gerwig mentioned her work at an event on Saturday.
Gerwig, who made history as the first American female director to serve as jury president, walked up the steps of the festival’s closing ceremony in stylish pointed-toe slingback shoes.

For the jury award ceremony, Gerwig wore a custom Celine gown by Hedi Slimane. Styled by Karla Welch, who dressed Gerwig in at least 10 outfits at Cannes this year, the haute couture gown featured asymmetrical one-shoulder draping and a high slit.

Through a slit, fans could see Gerwig’s shoes, Christian Louboutin’s “Hot Chick” sling pumps. This style features Louboutin’s trademark red sole. The upper also features a curved design, a tradition of the brand’s Hot Chick line. The stiletto heel is four inches, a steep style for a single-soled shoe.

Slingbacks are a trending silhouette at Cannes; Gerwig has worn them at least three times. Earlier this week, she paired them with a red sequined gown featuring a bold gold buckle and sculptural heel, all from Saint Laurent. But she’s not the only one: Zoe Saldana wore the same Saint Laurent shoes in different colors, while Hunter Schafer, Uma Thurman, and Selena Gomez all wore slingbacks from Roger Vivier and Jimmy Choo. Nicky Hilton was also spotted wearing strappy Miu Miu slingbacks.

Gerwig started off Cannes in a look from John Galliano’s much talked about Maison Margiela Artisanal collection, which debuted earlier this year. Pairing her poplin sundress with white tabi-style pumps designed by Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela, the shoes debuted at the show in January.
