Mother Nature is giving us a beautiful day today. Looking at the satellite images this morning, the thunderstorms we saw last night have completely subsided. The skies are clearing up.

Without a doubt, today is a great day to get outside, so it’s not a bad idea to start planning your Memorial Day weekend a little early.
Saturday weather forecast: 8/10
Things will change dramatically in a few days. Dry weather will continue Saturday. The highest chance of rain and thunderstorms will occur in the evening across the western half of the state. Most of the weather will remain dry during the day.

Looking at the future high resolution NAM radar below, we can see that many areas will not see thunderstorms develop until at least Saturday evening. The top left corner of the graph includes timestamps for reference. The best time for thunderstorms to develop on Saturday appears to be between 4pm and 10pm.
Sunday forecast: 8/10
Sunday will continue to be mostly sunny across the state, with isolated showers and storms possible. We strongly encourage you to save any outdoor Memorial Day plans for Sunday before rain begins by Monday.
Memorial Day Forecast: 5/10
Storms will hit the Great Lakes region later in the weekend, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms on Memorial Day. Again, outdoor activities are best reserved for Saturday or Sunday.
