On Sunday, the Texas football team and head coach Steve Sarkisian wrapped up three weekends of official visits throughout June. Texas has hosted more than 40 official visitors in recent weeks who are prime targets for recruiting in the 2025 class, including 17 from June 21-23.
The modern recruiting schedule, which sees many freshmen sign in early December, emphasizes the importance for many freshmen to complete their recruitment before their senior season begins, and it will likely be the same this offseason, with many of Texas’ top targets in the 2025 class expected to finish their decision timeline by early September.
We expect to see decisions from at least a few of the potential targets in the Class of 2025 who took official visits to Texas during the three big visiting weekends leading up to and during the Fourth of July holiday since June 7. Many of the freshmen who took official visits to Texas over the weekend are also expected to make announcements soon.
Here are five official visitors who are trending to Texas since the last big visiting weekend on June 23rd.
Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Timberview three-star safety Nathan Tilmon has resumed his recruiting days after completing his official visit to Texas on June 20. Tilmon announced his decommitment from the SMU Mustangs on social media on Sunday night (June 23).
Texas has a great chance to land Tilmon, who rescinded his commitment from SMU about 24 hours ago, and he had a great experience on his midweek official visit to Texas last week, June 18-20.
Horns247 reported on June 24 (paid content) that a decision from Tilmon is expected within the next week or 10 days: If Tilmon is ready to announce between now and July 4th, I would assume Texas will be the choice.
