Aston Martin has announced that Fernando Alonso will remain with the team on a new multi-year contract.
Fernando Alonso has signed a new contract with the Aston Martin team until 2026, meaning he will remain in F1 for at least two more seasons.

Alonso has revealed that he is at a crossroads in his career, considering whether to remain in F1 beyond this season. Realizing he wanted to stay in the sport, Alonso broke new terms with Aston Martin to stay in the sport for at least two more years.
Alonso’s removal from the driver market therefore means that there is no longer a theoretical possibility of him moving to Red Bull or Mercedes.
“It’s great news that we have secured Fernando’s long-term future at Aston Martin Aramco,” said team principal Mike Clack.
“We have had a strong working relationship over the past 18 months and share the same determination to make this project a success. , Fernando has been true to his word. When he decided he wanted to continue racing, he was the first to tell us. Fernando has shown that he believes in us and we I believe in him too.
“Fernando is hungry for success, drives better than ever, is fitter than ever and is fully committed to making Aston Martin Aramco a competitive team. The multi-year agreement begins our works power unit partnership with Honda in 2026. We look forward to creating more great memories and achieving even more success together.”
