The weekend is finally here and there are many outdoor events happening in our area. Six In The Morning weekend anchor Kristen Weaver joins us to share what’s going on across Green Her Country.

“Tiny Tulsa” at the Meeting House

Gathering Place is launching a new program called Tiny Tulsa on Saturday, April 6th, and will be held every Saturday in April and May.

Tiny Tulsa is an accessible, sensory program for children with special needs.

The boathouse will be transformed into Tiny Tulsa, complete with a small farmers market, food trucks, library, and more. Starts at the meeting point on Saturday at 9:30am.

Tulsa Farmers Market

Speaking of the farmers market, it will be held again this week! The Tulsa Farmers Market opens on Saturday, April 6th.

You’ll find everything from produce to meat to fresh flowers, as well as live music and activities.

Open Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Kendall-Whittier neighborhood near Admiral and Lewis. We will also be open on Saturdays until September.

Bixby Farmers Market

And Bixby will also be holding a farmers market on Sunday, April 7th!

The market is held every other Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charlie Young Park in downtown Bixby.

There will be plenty of food, along with activities such as bounce houses, face painting, and community service events.

Magic City Books “Book Bash”

Magic City Books, in partnership with the Downtown Tulsa Partnership, will host the first-ever Magic City Book Bash on Saturday, April 6th.

Many authors will be signing books and presentations, and there will also be a DJ, food, and vendors.

All of this is aimed at giving Tulsans another way to spread the joy of reading. It will be held along Archer between MLK and Detroit on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Collinsville 125th Anniversary Celebration

Collinsville will celebrate its 125th National Day celebration on Saturday, April 6th, with all kinds of activities and fun on Main Street. All to showcase his amazing 125 years since Collinsville was founded.

A parade of cars, motorcycles, and wagons will begin at 11 a.m. There will be vendors from 1pm to 7pm, a variety of food options, and street dancing and a concert from 5pm.

Best of Broadway Hits Singing Contest

The Tulsa Sings singing competition is back this weekend! The event will be held on Saturday, April 6th at 7:30pm at the TCC VanTrease Performing Arts Center.

TCC’s Signature Symphony will host the event, featuring 10 incredibly talented singers performing Broadway’s greatest hits.

A panel of judges will choose the winner, and the audience will also vote for their favorite. The winners will be performing at future events around the city.
