Fabio Vieira is one of the players who could leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and Fabrizio Romano has given his opinion on a possible move.
Vieira moved to the Premier League in the summer of 2022 when Arsenal paid Porto £34million on a long-term contract, the year before helping Portugal reach the Euros Under-21 final and the attacking midfielder winning the tournament’s Player of the Year award.
Vieira emerged as one of Portugal’s most exciting young players during his time at Porto and was expected to make a big impact at Arsenal.
However, the 23-year-old failed to secure a starting place with manager Mikel Arteta preferring to feature the likes of Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz.
Vieira has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season but only played more than 45 minutes in five of those games.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested the playmaker could leave Arsenal this summer in order to find more playing time elsewhere.

Vieira has long been linked with a move to Monaco and a move there would mark his first foray into Ligue 1.
In the latest column, Daily BriefingRomano said there was no guarantee Vieira would leave the Emirates this summer but that Arteta could approve the sale if a compelling offer was received.
Arsenal transfer: Romano gives update on Fabio Vieira
“It has been reported that Fabio Vieira could leave Arsenal due to lack of playing time, but my understanding is that it depends on the proposal,” the reporter said.
“It’s quiet at the moment but players like Vieira (not all of them) have the chance to leave if a good offer comes along. We just need to be patient in that regard.”
Vieira is not the only attacking midfielder rumoured to be leaving Arsenal, with four Premier League teams revealed on Sunday to be competing for Emile Smith Rowe, who is no longer a key player for Arteta.
Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton and Crystal Palace all see Smith Rowe as a promising player and are keen to sign him.
Of these teams, Villa are sure to emerge as the favourites for the foreseeable future, offering Smith Rowe an opportunity to play in the Champions League as well as a reunion with Unai Emery, who gave him his first break at Arsenal.
Smith Rowe is estimated to be worth between £30 and £40 million, all of which would be pure profit for Arsenal after developing him.
Of course, if Arsenal were to sell both Vieira and Smith Rowe, they would need to bring in a new attacking midfielder to help out Odegaard and Havertz if injuries continue to pile up.
