A startling post from the European Space Agency (ESA) has left people astonished and stunned, showing the “scar on Mars”. The agency published a series of photos and described a giant crack stretching 600 km in length.
“Mars’ scar revealed! This amazing image from Mars Express shows Aganippe Fossa, a giant fissure running across the side of Arsia Mons, one of the most powerful volcanoes on Mars (even surpassing the tallest on Earth!),” ESA writes.
“Scientists think this 600-kilometer-long rift was created when magma stretched and tore apart the Martian crust, but the mystery doesn’t end there! Strange zebra-striped formations nearby suggest the presence of wind-blown dust and ancient glaciers,” the group posted.
ESA concluded the post with a series of photos showing the scars on Mars.
