However, Sadhu says closure does not necessarily mean forgetting or erasing the memory of the relationship, but rather integrating those experiences into one’s growth journey. This allows individuals to move forward in their lives, open themselves to new experiences and relationships, and independently find happiness and fulfillment.
“Achieving closure is a very personal and individual step, and varies from person to person. Getting through the complexities of letting go and moving on takes patience, self-awareness, and sometimes the support of friends, family, and therapists. I need support,” she says.
While a divorce ring may have meaning for some people, it does not guarantee divorce and should be considered as just a potential tool towards emotional resolution. “Ultimately, the importance of a divorce ring depends on the individual and their unique emotional requirements,” Sadhu concluded.
