Heavy rain fell in the city-state of Dubai, known for its dry climate, on April 16, causing chaos in the United Arab Emirates. The unexpected downpour flooded major areas of the city, including Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest aviation hub for international passengers, and several shopping malls.

A video of a Rolls Royce submerged in floodwaters has gone viral on social media. Video shows commuters filming the flooding while sitting in their cars.

The video had over 20,000 views and users reacted to it. “What the hell is this… It looks like a water planet from an interstellar movie… Don’t mess with God,” one user commented.

In another video, a luxury car is seen half submerged in water as a commuter shoots a video.

On April 16, the UAE was hit by an unprecedented amount of rain. The National Meteorological Center reported that 254 millimeters of rain fell in 24 hours in the ‘Hatom Al Shakra’ area of ​​Al Ain. Khaleej Times report.
