Dorset start-up secures £3.6m to clean equipment with ultra-pure water

Spotless Water, a Dorset-based start-up that supplies ultra-pure water (UPW) for cleaning equipment, has secured £3.6 million investment.

UPW is water that has undergone thorough purification methods to remove all minerals. UPW leaves no mineral deposits behind after drying, so it is used to clean specialized equipment such as solar panels.

Founded in 2016, Spotless Water claims to be the only eco-solution for the UPW sector.

The Dorset-based company distributes UPW through self-service dispensing stations powered by its own automated software.

“This new investment will enable Spotless Water to continue to lead the way as a pioneer in UPW, bringing efficient, accessible and environmentally friendly solutions to even more customers,” said company CEO Tim Morris.

The funding has been provided by Leeds-based investor YFM Equity Partners, which led an £8.7m funding round for EV charging point start-up Fuuse this month.

“Spotless Water demonstrates how grassroots ventures with a unique idea and proposition can be successful, particularly if they use a unique technology,” said Helen Villiers, investment director at YFM.

“We look forward to being part of the company’s new growth journey as it replicates its past success and expands its footprint across the UK.”

In 2020, Spotless Water raised £550,000 in investment from Blackfinch.
