Have you heard about online jobs that require initial registration worth thousands of rupees, CAPTHA jobs, ad clicking jobs, ad placement jobs or any other similar jobs?If you haven’t heard of them, then you are probably unaware of one of the biggest scams currently going on in the country.
But those who have heard of such a job If you are planning to get the registration (which usually costs anywhere from 5,000 to over 100,000 rupees), don’t waste your money as it is a scam. In the end, you will end up wasting your hard-earned money.
To find out more about how scammers track people, keep reading.
How it works?
Companies (usually teams of two or three people) with an office and some official documentation, such as NTN, advertise to the local community that anyone with very basic computer knowledge can get ad-clicking jobs (also known as work-from-home online jobs) with monthly salaries ranging from Rs 10,000, Rs 20,000 to as much as Rs 100,000.
You will come across a lot of brochures claiming that anyone with very basic computer knowledge can get a monthly salary of Rs 10,000, Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 in ad clicking jobs (also known as work from home online jobs), although the salary varies depending on the initial registration fee.
The higher the upfront fee, the higher the monthly salary, which is usually set at about 50% of the upfront registration fee.
These scammers also advertise in newspapers. Take a look at this ad:
When you call they will explain the registration fee and once you pay it you can start on a monthly salary.
The usual registration fee structure for such online jobs/ad clicking jobs and the corresponding monthly salary is as follows:
- Registration Fee: 5,000 rupees = Monthly Salary: 2,500 rupees
- Registration Fee 10,000 rupees = Monthly Salary: 5,000 rupees
- Registration Fee 15,00 Rs = Monthly Salary: 7,500 Rs
- Registration Fee: 25,000 rupees = Monthly Salary: 12,5000 rupees
- Registration Fee 40,000 rupees = Monthly Salary 20,000 rupees
- Registration Fee 50,000 rupees = Monthly Salary: 25,000 rupees
- Registration Fee 100,000 rupees = Monthly Salary: 50,000 rupees
Needless to say, the registration fees for online jobs and the corresponding monthly salary vary from case to case.
Once you pay the registration fee, the company will give you an account on their website so you can log in and start doing your daily tasks, which usually involve clicking ads, filling out CAPTCHAs, or basically just doing dummy tasks that don’t amount to much.
At the end of the month, you will receive your promised salary, covering half of your initial investment and allowing you to continue working for a second month.
During this period, and especially after you receive your first paycheck, you will be telling all your friends and family about this job, among whom there will be at least 4-5 unemployed people who would love to do such an easy job from home.
Not only this, you might think that you can double your income by signing up for another one and perhaps you will end up buying another account with a higher registration fee.
Soon enough, your FnF will also be registered (paying the registration fee, of course), and so the chain begins, with your company receiving hundreds of registrations every month.
According to the estimates, the expected cash flow situation of the company you are dealing with is as follows:
- First month: 10 registrations (Rs. 10,000 per registration, monthly salary of Rs. 5,000)
- Cash: 100,000 rupees
- Monthly Salary: 50,000 rupees (or equivalent)
- Carry forward cash: Rs. 50,000
- Month 2: 20 registrations (Rs 10,000 per registration)
- Cash on hand: Rs 50,000 (carried forward from previous month) + Rs 200,000 as per current month’s registration.
- Monthly salary: 150,000 (30 people)
- Cash carried forward amount: 250,000 rupees to 150,000 rupees: 100,000 rupees
- Month 3: 50 registrations (Rs 10,000 per registration)
- Cash balance: Rs 100,000 (carried forward from previous month) + Rs 500,000 as per current month’s registration.
- Monthly salary: 400,000 rupees (80 people)
- Cash carried forward: 600,000-400,000 = Rs. 200,000
- This goes on and on.
In this example, we have assumed that the registration fee is 10,000 rupees and the monthly salary is 5000 rupees. However, in reality, the registration fee is set at around 25,000 rupees and the monthly salary is around 12,500 rupees.
As we all know, getting new registrations is essential to any business staying in business – it’s what pays the salary.
As we all know, getting new registrations is essential for any business to stay in business, which is what pays the salary. But considering the unemployment rate in our country and most people getting a decent monthly salary (for a small initial cost that can be recouped in just 2 months), who wouldn’t sign up?
One day (usually payday 8-12 months later), everyone is shocked: the internet recruitment agency is no longer there, the offices are empty, and the company has fled without notice.
One day, after a few months, you will be greeted by an empty office and eventually find out that the company has absconded with millions of rupees from your account.
By this time, at least millions of rupees will be in the account of the scam company you registered with, never to be recovered. This getaway is the main return on investment for the scammers, and that is how they make money.
Some (old customers) may have gotten their registration fees back, but the majority will have lost the money they paid as registration fees.
Notes
- Companies offering online jobs, ad clicking jobs, and other internet jobs are usually strangers, but they employ local resources as a front end for their company.
- These companies will go out of business eventually, so locals probably won’t be doing this kind of work. If you see a friend running such a business, ask them who the real owner is – they’re a complete stranger to you (and your local friend).
- The company doesn’t benefit from any work you do. You don’t get paid by browsing web pages or filling out CAPTCHAs. Even if online job providers tell you that, it’s a lie.
- There is no job out there that requires an initial registration fee, and anyone who asks for a registration fee should be avoided as they are working on exactly the model described above.
Needless to say, this scam business is rampant across the country, and every town, big and small, in the country has at least a few scam companies using this same model to rip through people’s pockets. We urge law enforcement to pay close attention to this issue.
So, consider the following: Never register with any company that asks you to pay an upfront registration fee in exchange for introducing you to online jobs. Such companies are simply fake. If you know anyone who does this, tell them the same. Spread the word and let everyone know.
