Did you know 2Chainz is getting into the smoothie business?

2 Chainz is known for making hit songs. Now, he’s making a name for himself in another field: the smoothie business.

The rapper and businessman recently announced a partnership with health drink brand Smoothie King to open a new Smoothie King kiosk at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. He announced the partnership on Instagram.

“Oh wow wow wow a big surprise is coming soon,” he said in a video post. “I’m happy to announce a new partnership with Smoothie King and State Farm Arena. This has been a long time coming. I’ve been drinking smoothies like I’ve been drinking them my whole life.”

He said he opened the store with franchisee Phillip Jones. “I’ve known Phillip for over five years, since he had one Smoothie King and we’ve always talked about working with and partnering with a small, black-owned business. So I want to take this opportunity to give a special thank you to the Hawks owners and organization, State Farm Arena and Smoothie King. I appreciate all of you. I really do.”

The kiosk opened in conjunction with the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA Draft, which was held at the arena earlier this month.

According to the latest data from Glassdoor, the estimated total compensation for a Smoothie King franchise owner is approximately $100,000, including base salary and additional pay, with the average base salary being $60,000 per year and the average additional pay being $13,000 per year.

This isn’t the artist’s first foray into the food industry: Atlanta-based Esko Restaurant, Bar & Tapas opened with friend and business partner Michael “Snoop” Dillard in 2016. Less than a decade later, the duo franchised the concept, which now has locations across the country.
