February 28, 2024
JONESBORO – The Delta Center for Economic Development (DCED) on the Arkansas State University campus will host an Entrepreneurship Training Series in April. Sessions will be held in Room 201, 319 University Loop.
The three-part series will kick off with “A Conversation with Paul Guess” from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, April 11. Guess, president and CEO of Guess & Company, is an Arkansas Delta entrepreneur.
“He shares his story of growing an Arkansas Delta-based company and how it has contributed to his hometown of De Ark. Paul and his company are a shining example of entrepreneurial spirit,” said DCED Deputy Director Dr. Cliff Jones.
On Thursday, April 18, from 1 to 3 p.m., DCED will host Clint Vogus, lecturer of business administration in the Neil Griffin College of Business, who will speak on “The Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship.”
Vogus has more than 25 years of experience and helps with consulting work for small businesses and start-ups through DCED.
The third and final session of the series will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 1-3pm.
“Resources for Entrepreneurs” will feature a panel discussion with representatives from the East Arkansas Planning and Development District, the Arkansas Small Business Technology Development Center and the Arkansas Capital Corporation.
“Learning from the success of experienced entrepreneurs provides important perspective and insight into how to lead initiatives in a changing world, and participants will have the opportunity to network with business owners, professors and entrepreneurial support experts,” Jones said.
The event is free to attend, but seating is limited for the three sessions and registration is required. To register for the series, please visit: Admissions.AState.edu/register/entrepreneurialseries24
