Danske Bank has added a new feature to its mobile app to give customers a clearer view of how many sustainable investments they have in their portfolios.
A survey by Danske Invest shows that the majority of Danish investors want to place a greater emphasis on sustainability when investing, but until now, the underlying sustainability perspective meant meeting with an investment advisor.
“Since launching the feature for advisors, we’ve been intentional about making this available to clients when they’re at home,” says Anne Butchart, head of global private banking. “We now offer this capability to anyone who uses our online or mobile bank, so this insight isn’t just for those receiving personal investment advice.”
Users of this new feature will be able to gain insight into the percentage of their investments that are sustainable, as well as how their investments overall relate to factors such as climate, equality, human rights and biodiversity.
A survey conducted by Danske Invest last fall found that sustainability was rated as “important” or “very important” for 61% of Nordic clients with investment capital.
Butchart said: “This new feature gives our customers an efficient and intuitive digital solution that allows them to easily see how many sustainable investments they have and how their investments are performing based on a number of sustainability parameters they select, directly on their smartphone.”
Sustainable investments are identified based on a model developed by Danske Bank. At the same time, the feature also provides an overview of the performance of investments on several specific sustainability parameters in relation to the overall stock market.
