Sequins and glitter were a big hit on the red carpet in 2023, and the trend is set to continue this year, according to stars attending the 77th Tony Awards ceremony in New York City on Sunday.
Sarah Paulson, who won her first award for best actress in a play, sparkled in a black and white column dress, while Cynthia Erivo put a metallic twist on the trend in a strapless, floor-length dress.

Paulson mixed the black and white palette that was popular throughout this awards season with the glittery embellishment trend. Her custom Prada dress featured structured shoulders with satin bows. The “American Horror Story” star, who attended the Tony Awards with her partner Holland Taylor, accessorized with Mindy Mondo jewelry.
Cynthia Erivo
Erivo’s strapless Louis Vuitton gown was covered in sequins, and the Wicked star completed her look with diamond-encrusted Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a statement necklace and rings.
Brooke Shields
Brooke Shields brought sunshine to the red carpet in a Monique Lhuillier dress that featured a sequined bodice and bow waist. The actress and model accessorized her look with matching Crocs and a gold clutch bag.
