Sasin School of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University Sasin Impact Entrepreneurship Week 2024 (Sasin IEW) Launched It was held from 19 to 23 June 2024. The press conference featured vision talks by four experts and introduced Sasin IEW’s world-class activities, including a student-level business competition and the first GCEC “New Frontier: Bangkok Summit 2024” international academic conference in Asia, hosted by Thailand.
At this press conferenceMr. Dibyendu Bose“Sasin IEW is a gathering of entrepreneurs, investors, academics, policymakers and the public who want to drive innovation and positive change for a sustainable future for all,” said Dr. Lars Svensson“Sasin IEW’s goal is to spark a multilateral conversation about the role of entrepreneurs in creating positive impact. This is the first time that the three core activities in entrepreneurship have been brought together under the philosophy of sustainability,” added Yale Schwab, director of Sasin Sustainability and Entrepreneurship Center (Sasin SEC). Additionally, collaboration between Sasin, the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) and the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation was announced.
A warm-up discussion panel in preparation for the Sasin IEW “Thailand Showcase” Four experts participated.Lars Svensson of Sasin Graduate School of Business; Associate Professor Jittima Rukkanagul, Acting Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Innovation and Global Engagement at Chulalongkorn University; Sukitch Udindu, founding CEO of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Sufficiency Economic Philosophy for Sustainability (SEAMEO SEPS) and sustainability columnist for the Daily News; and Vas Sriviva, Chief Impact Officer at Sasin Graduate School of Business and Vice Chair of the ASEAN+ Chapter of the UN PRME Chapter.

1) The first GCEC conference in Asia““New Frontier: Bangkok Summit 2024” Reflects the concept of “inclusive entrepreneurship drives impact”
2) Bangkok Business Challenge 2024 (BBC 2024)is a global student startup competition organized by Sasin, the longest-running business project competition in Asia.
3) Family Enterprise Case Competition – Asia Pacific 2024 (FECC-AP 2024)The aim is to find a group of students who excel at tackling family business challenges and analysing strategies. The winner will go on to compete in a global business plan competition to be held in the US in January next year. Sasin, the current world champion, has the honour of being the first in Asia to host the competition.
The event will also feature three further forums.
– “Fostering an Inclusive Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for Impact: A Path to Success”The panel will explore the latest collaborative strategies and advancements in the innovation ecosystem for startups and entrepreneurs in Thailand and the region. The panel will include representatives from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s Knowledge Exchange for Innovation (KX), CMU STeP, Chiang Mai University, and CU Innovation Hub, Chulalongkorn University, as well as the Thai Association of Social Enterprise, the National Innovation Agency, and the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE).
– “The Road to Startup Success: Insights from Investors and Backers for Impact Entrepreneurs.”It will delve deep into the challenges of startups and social enterprises, spark fundraising ideas and create a networking space for new startups. Panelists come from various fields, including social and agri-entrepreneurs, business coaches, the Thailand Startup Association, Yunus Centre AIT, angel investors and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA).
–“Redefining the value of impact “Entrepreneurship through Sufficiency Economic Philosophy (SEP)”teeth, Mr. Vasu Sriviva, Chief Impact Officer, Sasin Graduate School of Business and Vice Chair, ASEAN+ Chapter, UN PRME. Panelists include: Mr. Sukic Udinduformer CEO Steve Young, Sustainability Columnist for SEAMEO SEPS and Daily News, and Honorary Co-Chair of the Sasin Centre for Sustainability & Entrepreneurship. The forum will discuss integrating the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy to foster balanced and inclusive growth for entrepreneurs and inspire greater positive impact.
