Let’s take a look at MLB hitters who have performed well over the past seven days.
I’ve already put together a few articles about hitters who are doing well and pitchers who are struggling this MLB season.
I typically look at the past 30 days, but what many fantasy team owners want is to see how their players have performed over the past week, so that’s what we’ll do today.
Since starting pitchers can only make two starts in a seven-day period, this article will focus solely on hitters, and if well-received, could potentially be made every weekend for the remainder of the fantasy season.

Batters on the rise
The player with the most hits over the past seven days is the Arizona Diamondbacks’ , who has 13 hits in just five games.
Among those hits, Walker hit five home runs, three doubles, drove in 11 RBI and scored eight runs while walking four times and striking out just once.
Walker’s trade value has skyrocketed, making him a great high-seller trade candidate right now. He’s performed pretty well all season and isn’t a very high draft pick, so I’d rather keep him and enjoy his strong fantasy season.
The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox each recorded 11 hits over the past week.
Contreras is owned in every fantasy league and has been one of the top fantasy hitters all season. During this time he has hit a double and a home run, scored two RBIs and scored three runs. Contreras has recorded one walk and two strikeouts.
For fantasy team owners who wondered whether Contreras could maintain his form all season, the past week has largely erased that doubt: While we would like to see him hit with more power and score more runs, his batting average will improve going forward, so those factors should even out over time.
Sosa is barely owned in any fantasy league and was part of my waiver wire storyline today, as he went 11-for-11 with three doubles, two home runs, six RBI, five runs scored, one walk and two strikeouts.
Sosa is really only a good waiver wire option in deeper leagues or dynasties, but he’s at least worth keeping an eye on to see if he can continue his strong form at the plate.
The Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee have each recorded 10 hits over the past seven days.
Miranda also has been in waiver wire discussion, as he had three doubles among his hits, five RBIs, six runs scored, one walk and two strikeouts.
His season stats (mentioned in the waiver wire article) are probably a lot better than you think, making Miranda a pretty good waiver wire option in standard leagues right now, so if you’re interested in acquiring him, grab him now before his momentum fades.
Had he not missed a few weeks with an injury, Yelich would have been a strong contender to be one of the best fantasy hitters in baseball, with fewer home runs but a higher batting average, RBIs and runs scored.
Over the past seven days, Yelich has recorded 10 hits with two doubles, a home run and a triple, along with three RBI, five runs scored, three walks, four strikeouts and two stolen bases.
While not the MVP caliber player he was a few years ago due to his lack of home runs, Yelich is still a very good fantasy player and is probably undervalued right now in that regard. He can add fantasy points in a variety of ways and would cost a pretty penny in a trade, but it would still probably be worth it (as long as you don’t overpay significantly).
The Houston Astros have been great over the past seven days, reaching base 15 times.
Alvarez had eight hits, including three home runs and two doubles, while also scoring eight RBI, scoring 10 runs, walking seven and striking out one.
Alvarez’s form has him currently in the top 10 in trade value. This is only slightly above his ADP, so it doesn’t seem worth “selling high.” Enjoy the fantasy monster that is Alvarez.
The Chicago Cubs have recorded 10 RBIs in the past seven days (six games).
Happ had eight total hits, including three home runs and two doubles. In addition to his 10 RBIs, he also scored six runs, walked four and struck out five.
Happ is a very choppy hitter who is in a hot streak right now. For fantasy team owners looking to capitalize on his hot streak, he’s available in about 10 percent of leagues. Now might not be a bad time to try and sell him high in your standard leagues.
The Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers have each recorded eight RBIs over the past seven days, but that is a record that has been recorded in just five games for both players.
Devers had six hits in that stretch, including a triple and a home run, ran four runs, walked four and struck out five.
Devers is in the top 15 on the trade value chart, which is just a few notches above his original ADP, and while you could trade him for another great fantasy hitter, I don’t think you can “sell high.”
Over the past seven days, Lowe has collected nine total hits with three home runs and one double, while scoring five runs, walking one and striking out four.
Lowe was a fantasy player on the back end of rosters at the start of the season, but he hasn’t been anywhere near that level until recently, and with Lowe still available in 42% of fantasy leagues, now is the time to add him.
Arizona continues to shine offensively, recording seven hits and six walks over the past seven days (five games).
He had a double among his hits, struck out just three times, had three RBI, scored four runs and also stole a base.
Marte was drafted around the 50th pick, but he’s remained in the top 25 on trade value charts over the past few weeks. At this point, he should be viewed as one of the top fantasy hitters in the league, rather than a trade candidate.
The Tampa Bay Rays and San Francisco Giants both had .500 on-base percentages last week (five games each).
Paredes had six hits last week, including two home runs, one double and one triple, five RBIs, four runs scored, six walks and two strikeouts.
Paredes is performing well above his ADP, but his recent form would make him a tough sell to trade, and I’d enjoy him as a fantasy player and hope he continues to perform well for the majority of the season.
The situation is different for Ramos, as he wasn’t drafted in the top 400 this spring. He currently ranks 130th on the trade value chart.
Over the past week, Ramos has recorded nine hits, including two home runs and a double, three walks, five RBIs and a run scored, three strikeouts and one walk.
He was a hot waiver wire player a few weeks ago and based on his performance this season, his ownership percentage is probably much higher than 76. You could trade him, but I’d stick with Ramos as long as possible, as a one-time waiver wire acquisition is unlikely to yield a big return.
