Home to forests, waterfalls, temples, and monuments, Chhattisgarh is a popular tourist destination in India. One of the many wonders of this state is the famous ‘Urta Pani’ in Mainpat. This is a natural phenomenon that defies conventional understanding, and is sure to leave you scratching your head.

A recent video shared by @jethi_vlogs on Instagram showcases Ulta Pani, a stream that seems to defy gravity.video capture ulta paniThe claim was made famous by a video blogger who dropped a leaf into a river and showed it flowing upwards.

Is water working against gravity?

Contrary to first impressions, this phenomenon can be attributed to the principle of “siphoning”, a well-known concept in fluid mechanics. This process involves the movement of water from lowlands to highlands, seemingly defying gravity, before succumbing to gravity.

In the case of Ulta Pani, the landscape plays an important role in amplifying this illusion. Located between two hills, this stream uses the natural mechanics of the wind and terrain to create a vacuum effect, sucking water upwards with incredible force.

When the stream between the hills becomes long, a siphon action begins; Differential pressure It leads to water being drawn into the short section. This rapid movement of water against the gradient gives the illusion of defying gravity.

The video received thousands of likes on Instagram. One user said, “India is not good for Newton.” Another added: This is an optical illusion and occurs in multiple locations. I also had doubts about my own surveying equipment. More than once. ” A third user continued, “If gravity worked the other way, you’d be in the sky instead of on the ground.” A fourth user commented: “It’s an optical illusion because of the nearby mountains and terrain.”
