A video going viral shows dozens of Indian students lining up at a job fair at a Tim Hortons in Toronto.
According to an analysis by National Foundation for Policy Studies (NFAP), the number of Indians immigrating to Canada between 2013 and 2023 is expected to increase from 32,828 to 139,725. However, the high cost of studying at Canadian universities means students have to rely on part-time work. A video showing a group of Indian students queuing up for jobs at Tim Hortons has become a hot topic on the Internet.
The video, shared on Instagram by content creator Nishat, shows students job hunting at a Tim Hortons job fair in Toronto, where as soon as they arrive at the store, they see dozens of Indian students queuing up for part-time work.

The video, which has been viewed 1 million times, has received a variety of reactions. In response, one user wrote, “Learn construction, handyman, repair, truck driving. These jobs are in demand in Canada.” Another commented, “This is not the Canada I came to 8 years ago. It was full of opportunity, growth, dreams coming true. I don’t understand this country anymore. Everyone had the opportunity to grow and get hired. I found a part-time job in 2 weeks while studying, but the stories I’m hearing now are heartbreaking.”
“It’s nearly impossible to find a job to survive in Canada due to unnecessary overcrowding. It’s all the fault of the JT government,” a third user said.
