(FOX40.COM) — Several certified farmers markets are returning to downtown Sacramento.
The popular Capitol Mall Farmers Market returns to Capitol Mall and 6th Street on May 1st. The farmers market will be held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. until October 30th.
The Capitol Mall Farmers Market, sponsored by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, features vendors selling fresh produce and hot foods.
Customers can use their CalFresh/EBT card benefits at farmers markets.
Another farmers market returning to downtown is Bodega Days, which reopens on May 2 at Cesar Chavez Plaza. Bodega Days will be held every Thursday from 10am to 1pm until September 26th.
Customers can find produce, handcrafted items and hot food, and there is live music every other week. Bodega Days features a ping pong table, cornhole, book cart, and imaginative play area.
“Part of creating a vibrant downtown area includes providing amenities that encourage people to gather in community spaces,” Michael Ort of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership said in a press release. “Our Certified Farmers Markets do just that by turning underutilized spaces into welcoming places for employees, residents, and visitors, where they can eat lunch or pick up groceries. You can buy things, listen to music, and stay for a while.”
