

Nexus Louisiana’s 13th Baton Rouge Entrepreneurial Week begins Tuesday with a full day of sessions and a pitch contest.
BREW is scheduled to be held at Mid-City Tower until Thursday. over a dozen sessions Designed to help entrepreneurs start, maintain, and grow their businesses. Tuesday’s sessions will cover tackling unexpected business challenges, protecting your startup, building your brand’s digital identity, mastering automation, and more.
The first day of the conference concludes with “Demo Day,” a pitch competition where graduates of Nexus Louisiana’s Ignition 2.0 accelerator program compete for a $10,000 investment prize.Demo Day starts at 5 p.m.
Nexus Interim CEO Calvin Mills said this year’s event is unique in that: Two separate keynote speakers this year, both will speak Thursday morning. He also said ticket sales for BREW are up from last year, but could not provide exact numbers.
Dhiraj Mukherjee, Co-Founder shazamwill be speaking on “Stayin’ Alive,” exploring his approach to entrepreneurship and the lessons he has learned throughout his career. Since Shazam was acquired by Apple for $400 million in 2018, Mukherjee has invested in more than 250 startups in areas such as AI and climate technology. This is Mukherjee’s first time speaking in the United States.
CEO Felecia Hatcher, black ambition awardis expected to introduce “Thriving,” which explores how self-discovery and stepping into your “genius zone” can drive innovation and pave the way to success. As CEO of Black Ambition Prize, Mr. Hatcher has invested in over 100 entrepreneurs, raising a combined total of over $95 million.
The week’s events conclude with the annual High Stakes Pitch Competition. The stakes are higher this year than in years past.. This year’s High His stakes pitch will serve as a qualifying event for the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco in early October. The winner of the contest will also receive his $100,000 investment prize, funded by Innovation Catalyst and Red Stick Angels, and a free flight ticket to compete in Silicon Valley.
