Eagles Square, Abuja – President Bola Tinubu slipped and fell while climbing onto a parade vehicle at a venue in Abuja for the 25th Democracy Day celebrations on Wednesday, June 12.
In a video that went viral, Tinubu was seen approaching a car shortly after arriving at Eagles Square in Abuja, where the celebrations were being held.

The event at Eagles Square was one of a series of events planned to mark the country’s Democracy Day.
Reacting to the incident, the presidency said what happened was a blunder, adding that there was no issue as Tinubu immediately continued with the programme.
The clarification was made in a tweet by Special Adviser to the President, Dada Olusegun, on social media.
The statement reads:
“The President slipped and stumbled while entering a truck during Democracy Day celebrations on June 12. It was a minor misstep. He immediately continued with the ceremony. There is no incident.”
It’s similar to the moment US President Joe Biden slipped while climbing the steps of his private jet in 2021.
