Bill Gates revealed that Indian entrepreneurs have a “competitive advantage” over their Western counterparts, given the country’s diversity and broad demographic. The Microsoft co-founder recently appeared on the first episode of a new podcast series, “People by WTF,” along with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, where he advised Indian entrepreneurs to focus on “base-level concepts” rather than working on “biggest-scale things” that could yield better results.
The noted philanthropist also revealed that he has a “great relationship” with India, which has flourished over the years through technological and digital innovation. The two entrepreneurs discussed a wide range of topics, including the Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution, energy transition and the capitalism vs socialism debate.
When asked about the hacks he would suggest to young entrepreneurs, he said, “Pick something AI-related, use a Google or Microsoft platform and build on that,” but he said those who want to build something from scratch can also give it a go.
Bill Gates and Nikhil Kamath have been partners in philanthropy for many years. Kamath has pledged 50 percent of his wealth to The Giving Pledge, which was founded by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. The Zerodha co-founder is the fourth Indian and the youngest to endorse the initiative.
