Baltimore Homecoming, an organization that brings together a network of the city’s most talented alumni and graduates to invest in and support the city and its communities, announced the opening of the application round for its Club Tank Entrepreneur Program on Wednesday.
Applications will be accepted until June 19th.
The Club Tank program was launched in 2019 to expand and uplift small businesses by allowing Baltimore innovators to showcase their work, passion and potential in front of Baltimore’s most esteemed alumni. Sponsored by M&T Bank, the program pits local business owners against one another in competition for a $25,000 Grand Prize and a $2,500 People’s Choice Prize.
A committee made up of M&T Bank staff, former Club Tank entrepreneurs, and leaders from the technology, entrepreneurial and financial industries will select 10 applicants for the Baltimore community to compete against. The top five entrepreneurs, chosen by public vote, will present their companies to an audience and a panel of business expert judges at Baltimore Homecoming’s signature event in 2025. The Club Tank winner will be selected at the event.
Past Crab Tank winners include Hiatus Cheesecake, WhitePaws RunMitts, a Black-owned outdoor gear company sold in REI Co-op stores (founded to help avid runners stay active through the winter), and Femly, a company that provides healthier menstrual products and education through partnerships and bathroom dispensers.
