A story has been shared on Instagram that shows the “worst and best” of humanity. It tells the story of an orphaned baby gorilla who suffered at the hands of some villagers but was rescued and treated with love and kindness. This story is inspiring to watch.

Veterinarian Dr Chloe Breiting shared the video on her Instagram page, with the caption explaining the story of the baby gorilla named Mvogu.
“As humans’ closest relatives, gorillas experience the same trauma, fear and grief as humans, and after experiencing such adverse events at the hands of humans, it can be extremely difficult to rebuild trust,” the doctors wrote.
“Mvogu’s parents were killed by poachers for bushmeat, and he was kept by villagers who later sold him. Luckily, aged four months, he was later rescued and began to trust humans again after a few days.”
The video shows the cub with its new “mama,” who will stay with the cub until it turns two years old, after which it will be released back into the wild.
