The 14-week AWS Space Accelerator: India program aims to provide technical assistance, AWS training, and guidance from industry experts. The initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that AWS signed with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian National Space Propulsion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) in 2023 to accelerate the growth of space startups in India.

“This is the fourth consecutive year that AWS has run its Space Accelerator program, but the first time that we have focused on a specific country. We chose India for this effort because there is tremendous growth opportunity in the Indian space sector,” said Clint Crosier, director of Aerospace and Satellite Business at AWS.

Selected startups will receive up to $100,000 in AWS credits and support in developing and scaling their solutions. Backed by T-Hub and Minfy, the accelerator aims to help these startups by providing resources and expertise in areas such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data analytics. Additionally, the program will cover go-to-market strategies, fundraising, and business fundamentals.

AWS evaluated the startups based on their innovative solutions, product-market fit, sustainability, creative use of AWS technology, and team capabilities. The 2024 cohort will explore how to leverage space data, build secure solutions, and navigate the competitive space tech environment.

AWS Space Accelerator: India is expected to be a transformative journey for these startups, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and network they need to succeed in the dynamic space technology sector.
