Aviatra Accelerators, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting female entrepreneurs, has announced a new program focused on recognizing outstanding female business leaders who are leading the region. The Aviatra Accelerators Women Entrepreneurs of the Year Awards, in conjunction with media partner Cincinnati Business Courier, will recognize outstanding achievements in five categories.
University of Miami “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year”
· Blue North Women Tech Entrepreneurs of the Year
“Young Women Entrepreneurs of the Year” Awards, co-sponsored by Northern Kentucky University, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati
“Paying It Forward” Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by PayFWDs
Female Health Entrepreneur of the Year
To be eligible for the award, nominees must be the majority owner and active owner with management, operational and financial oversight of a business registered and currently operating in Northern Kentucky, Greater Cincinnati or Dayton, Ohio. Online nominations are now open and women entrepreneurs can nominate themselves or any other women entrepreneur who meets the award criteria.
“There are so many deserving female entrepreneurs in the region, and this recognition is not only a way to celebrate their success, but also to inspire and encourage other women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams,” said Jill Morenz, president and CEO of Aviatra Accelerators. Leaders and experts from various industries rigorously vet and evaluate the nominees following a selection process.
Nominations for this year’s Women Entrepreneur Awards close at 11:59pm on August 4. Community members are encouraged to nominate women entrepreneurs who have demonstrated leadership, innovation and excellence in their fields.
