The Powdersville Fire Department was called to extinguish a dumpster fire involving fireworks. Just before 4 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, Fire Station 7 was dispatched to a report of a dumpster fire at a business along Highway 153. According to the Powdersville Fire Department, the dumpster was close to the building and the heat caused the lights to melt. The dumpster was relatively empty otherwise the fire could have spread to the building.
