Anthony Kroll, an American entrepreneur and founder of Catf Gaming, faced a sticky situation during the recruitment process in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka state, after relocating to India from San Francisco. He shared his ordeal on social media site X, posting screenshots of WhatsApp messages he had with the job seeker.
The screenshots showed insulting messages from applicants who were not hired, including messages from disgruntled applicants demanding that Kroll apologise to her mother for giving birth to them and using foul language.

“Job seekers in India sometimes don’t take rejection well,” Kroll wrote in the post.
“Should I call your mother and apologise?” Kroll wrote to the applicant, to which the reply was “You should call your mother and apologise for giving birth to you.”
Kroll then asked, “So, are you still interested in the job?”, to which the applicant replied, “Yes, it’s a nasty job coming from a foreign guy named Tony ******.”
As of this writing, the post has garnered 479.3K views, over 2,000 likes, and over 300 replies.

“I’ve never had a recruiter say to me, ‘Should I call your mom and apologise?’ That’s not the whole story,” another wrote.
“Why on earth did you apologise to his mum?” one person asked, while another wrote: “Well you were the one who brought his mum into this conversation so it looks like you started it.”
