Mythology has become mainstream in cinema, with films based on mythology, epics and gods becoming blockbusters. This trend is evident across various film industries across India. Films based on mythology and gods such as “Karthikeya 2”, “Hanuman”, “Kantara” and “Oh My God” have been huge successes.
Recently, Prabhas’s film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, based on the epic poem ‘Mahabharata’ and its characters, has also broken records at the global box office. Following this trend, ‘Ali’, which explores themes like Arishadvargra and the greatness of Lord Krishna, is likely to mesmerise audiences soon.
Notably, Indian cinema has yet to touch upon the concept of Arishadvargra, which has heightened interest and anticipation for “Ali.” Presented by RV Reddy and produced by Srinivas Ramireddy, Timmappa Naidu Primetra and Seshu Malam Reddy under the banner of ARVY Cinema, “Ali” is subtitled “My Name Is Not Badi.” The film features an all-star cast that includes Vinod Varma, Surya Primetra, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Sai Kumar and Srikanth Iyengar.
Directed by Jayashankar, who earlier scored a hit with The Paperboy, Ali is gearing up for release. The film is generating a lot of buzz and a well-known production house will be collaborating with the project. Moreover, Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has shown interest in a Hindi remake of Ali. With a unique concept and strong backing, Ali is poised to become a huge success amid the trend of mythological films.
