Sara Rastegar is the owner of Point Studio Art in Bossier City, Louisiana. Point Studio Art is an art and design studio offering classes and workshops on textile printing.
Rastegar is an Iranian-born artist, professor, and, as of last year, a small business owner. Since she opened her business in August 2023, she has secured her full-time job as an educator.
“When I started thinking about running a new business, I didn’t anticipate that it would cost a lot of money just to set up a studio,” she said.
Since launching her business, she has changed her pricing structure, which she said has helped. And she said one of her biggest lessons she’s learned is to always stay open to change and learn new things.
“It’s a common belief that artists aren’t cut out for business, but I’m here to prove them wrong.”
