TikTok announced a $1 million investment to support the work of Black Girl Ventures, which increases access to financial and social capital for Black and brown entrepreneurs. He received more than 1,000 applications for the initiative, which was announced in January. This contest was open to small business owners, entrepreneurs, and beauty, lifestyle, and consumer goods content creators.
Recipients of the Innovate Together Grant awards include 12 individuals awarded at three different levels (ranging from $10,000 to $2,000). The fund is designed to help small business owners, entrepreneurs, and creators connect with creative professionals to grow their businesses.
Grant winners include:
• Kia Shun Volz of Shampoo Time, which sells mats designed for home hair washing.
• Selena Gil of Frères Blanchot, maker of candles and home care products.
• Candice Walker of Natural Rock’N Hair & Body Beauty Co. LLC, a manufacturer of plant-based skin and hair care products.
• Miona Short from Shukrah, the company behind Carefree Comb.
• Latoya Stirrup of Kazmaleje, a hair care tools and accessories company.
