Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG Stocks Fall as Market Falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks closed lower on Thursday with Euro India Fresh Foods (up 6.95%), ADF Foods (up 3.97%), Hatun Agro Products (up 3.81%), Dodla Dairy (up 3.34%), LT Foods (up 2.21%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities (up 1.66%), Parag Milk Foods (up 1.52%), Sheetal Cool Products (up 0.97%), Pratap Snacks (up 0.92%) and Zydus Wellness (up 0.88%) among the top gainers.

Tata Consumer Products (down 1.69%), Bajaj Consumer Care (down 1.37%), Heritage Foods (down 1.18%), Umang Dairies (down 1.17%), Colgate-Palmolive India (down 1.11%), Patanjali Foods (down 1.02%), Tasty Bites Eatables (down 0.97%), Nestle India (down 0.89%), Jyothy Laboratories (down 0.84%) and JHS Svengaard Laboratories (down 0.62%) were among the top losers on the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index fell 8.5 points to end at 24,315.95, while the 30-stock BSE Sensex fell 27.43 points to end at 79,897.34.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (up 2.22 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 2.09 per cent), Coal India (up 1.9 per cent), ITC (up 1.6 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.53 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.91 per cent), Asian Paints (up 0.86 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.81 per cent), Titan Company (up 0.74 per cent) and LTI Mindtree (up 0.59 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products (down 1.69%), Bajaj Finance (down 1.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.25%), Divis Laboratories (down 1.18%), NTPC (down 1.13%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 1.06%), Power Grid Corporation of India (down 0.94%), Nestle India (down 0.89%), Shriram Finance (down 0.84%) and Larsen & Toubro (down 0.8%) ended lower.
